Vegan Crack- legal in all states

What a ridiculous name.
Chocolate Caramel Crackers also known as Crack is aptly named so for many reasons. This stuff is addictive. Each broken shard combines the very best elements of sweets into one cheap and quick dessert that will leave you feeling really guilty the next morning. The guilt will stem from eating the entire pan. Don't say I didn't warn you!

One Year Ago Today Lentil Sage Roast, Black Pepper Grits & Carrots

Salty crackers and buttery caramel baked together and topped with dark chocolate and sea salt. You'll get addicted!

1 cup vegan butter
1 cup organic light brown sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1 sleeve saltines
12 oz dark chocolate chunks
sea salt

Preheat the oven to 350.
Line a baking sheet with parchment or foil.
Combine the butter and brown sugar in a small sauce pan. Melt and bring to a boil. Cook for 3 minutes until brown and bubbly. Add the vanilla.
While the butter is cooking, line the baking sheet with a single layer of saltines, packed tightly.
Pour the butter/sugar mixture over the crackers, covering completely.
Bake for 15. Immediatly sprinkle the chocolate over the top and let sit for 5 minutes then spread the chocolate to an even layer. Sprinkle with sea salt.
Once the chocolate has cooled and set up, snap into pieces and hide it from your family members

  2. Re: sprinkling the chocolate, do you grate it first?

    1. Oops sorry, I should reword that. I just dropped the chocolate chunks all over and the heat melted it enough to allow you to then spread it out.
