Vegan Cadbury Eggs

These eggs are SO easy to make and don't take much time at all. Thank god there is only one day a year I can justify making these because they are absolutely cavity-inducing and I might just weigh 300 lbs if I ate these constantly.
The "yolk" part of these eggs isn't really a necessary step but if you are going for looks as well as taste, go ahead and take the extra step.

Vegan Cadbury Eggs
2 tbl vegetable shortening
1/4 cup earth balance vegan butter, room temperature
1/2 cup plus 1 tbl light corn syrup
pinch of salt
1 tsp vanilla extract
3 cups organic powdered sugar
yellow food coloring
red food coloring
1 lb chocolate, coarsely chopped
1 tsp coconut, almond, orange extract (optional)
Use a whisk attachment to whip the shortening and butter until smooth. Add the corn syrup, salt and vanilla. Whip to combine. Add the powdered sugar and whisk until smooth.
Portion 1/4th of the mixture in a bowl and add some yellow and red dye to make orange. Add an additional extract flavor to the yolk part if you want. Roll into small balls and freeze for 20 minutes. Chill the remaining white part in the fridge while you wait.
Shape some white around each yolk and form a ball or egg shape. Freeze for 30 minutes.
Dip each egg in melted chocolate and let harden.
